After reading this piece by Paul Krugman, Bits, Bands and Books. What do I need to say? He just loved the Amazon Kindle, an ebook reader he just bought. Yes, Krugman, Kindle is a kind of revolution isn’t it? He started his piece about how the internet bubble emerged in the 90s, said that the bubble produced what he called “were better at promoting their images than at making money”. Then he goes to the topic of digital revolution, which eventually came into conclusion (I guess) after he bought the Amazon Kindle, a more interesting way to read books. Let’s say it go green, less paper. More than that, he mentioned the “distribute intellectual property free in order to sell services and relationships.”, a thought from Esther Dyson. Well said. The good example of the Grateful Dead. Or bands can convert airplay and YouTube views into financial success indirectly. And thanks to him mentioning the Rolling Stone’s Rock’s New Economy: Making Money When CDs Don’t Sell, and some business explanations describe this kind of revolution very well. And what he said,
I’ve heard same voices before about how newspaper will end up when internet publishing is coming. But? We need to heard more than this, it sound not quite good example. This thinking is of free is much alike Chris Anderson‘s article Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business, originally published on Wired, May 2008 and soon become a book, about why freeing products or services is the future of business. Finally, I came into conclusion that books and bands definitely the future of digital revolution, as it already begun now. Have a nice weekend!
